Commerce Department said on Wednesday, May 13th, that the country&#8217;s retail sales were unchanged in the month of April as can be seen from below chart.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pgm-blog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/USA-retail-sales.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-12464\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pgm-blog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/USA-retail-sales.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"344\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Americans cut back on their purchases at autos dealers, furniture outlets, building supply stores, gas stations, supermarkets and department stores last month. Offsetting those declines were increases in spending at restaurants, clothiers, health-related stores and online retailers.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>ADECOAGRO Q1-2015, FINANCIAL RESULTS:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Company Profile:<br \/>\n<\/strong><b>Adecoagro S.A.<\/b> (NYSE:AGRO) is an agricultural company in South America. The company makes money by producing and selling products such as cattle, dairy goods, sugar, ethanol, and farming crops. Adecoagro has operations in Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay.<\/p>\n<p>As of December 31, 2014, it owned a total of 257,036 hectares comprising:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>20 farms in Argentina,<\/li>\n<li>11 farms in Brazil,<\/li>\n<li>1 farm in Uruguay<\/li>\n<li>3 rice processing facilities in Argentina<\/li>\n<li>2 dairy facilities with approximately 6,551 milking cows in Argentina.<\/li>\n<li>10 grain and rice conditioning and storage plants in Argentina.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As of March 31, 2015, the company owned 3 sugar and ethanol mills in Brazil with a sugarcane crushing capacity of 10.2 million tons; and had a cogeneration capacity of 232 MW.<\/p>\n<p>Adecoagro S.A. was founded in 2002 and is based in Luxembourg.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pgm-blog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/slide16_esp.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-12471\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pgm-blog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/slide16_esp.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"205\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, May 14, the company reported its Q1-2015 financial results with the following highlights:<\/p>\n<ul id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1431868607934_2101\" type=\"disc\">\n<li id=\"yui_3_16_0_1_1431868607934_2100\">Adecoagro recorded Adjusted EBITDA\u00a0of $35.8 million in Q1-2015, representing a 3.1% increase compared to Q1-2014.<\/li>\n<li>Adjusted EBITDA margin\u00a0during Q1-2015 reached 32.8%, compared to 36.7% in Q1-2014.<\/li>\n<li>Net Income in Q1-2015 was US$13.8 million, US$11.2 million higher than in Q1-2014.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ir.adecoagro.com\/Download\/20150514180941.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Source:<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>PGM CAPITAL COMMENTS:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Disappointed USA April Retail Sales:<br \/>\n<\/strong>It shouldn\u2019t be a surprise that the latest batch of US numbers are somewhere between disappointing and catastrophic.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First-quarter GDP was flat and is about to be revised negative.<\/li>\n<li>Retail sales were flat in April, the first month of the second quarter, with business inventories and import prices pointing in the same grind-to-a-halt direction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The US is now looking at zero growth for the entire first half of 2015. Six years into a recovery, with record low interest rates and a recent doubling of government debt, that\u2019s a bit of a dilemma. Especially given the Fed\u2019s threat to raise interest rates in the next few months.<\/p>\n<p>As can be seen from below chart, the dollar is reacting to this prospect exactly as one would expect, by falling like a stone, after it has hit a 12 year high, by mid March this year.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12487\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a the dollar, adding US$30 an ounce since Wednesday May 13th, to end the week at US$ 1223.65 an ounce, as can be seen from below chart.<\/p>\n<p><a
