Buying these S&amp;P 500 puts, essentially gives Soros the right, but not the obligation, to sell them in the future.\u00a0 In other words, if the S&amp;P 500 or the ETF that tracks falls, Soros should make a nice profit.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CARL ICHAN:<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>Legendary Investor Carl Ichan, recently said in an interview:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pgm-blog.com\/gurus-are-bearish-on-the-sp-500\/images-6\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14241\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.pgm-blog.com\/?attachment_id%3D14241&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1471801701592000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEa6K9CNVbCcsrAJRNZFhsZ0mzvOg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/ci3.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/odTjyRKqk-tiaZBqh34dwcCRMWSrPnCsJ9kU85-LoIp6gfowHrxZuQz6bMgPJt_fQ8Vj02sRNg1wQ-C62Z12Ddk9SdQKK02pPZpDR2shdfytHD3U=s0-d-e1-ft#http:\/\/www.pgm-blog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/images.jpeg\" width=\"252\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cI have hedges on, I\u2019m more hedged than I ever was. The market is way overvalued at 20 times the S&amp;P and I\u2019ll tell you why: a lot of it is a result of zero interest rates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">That\u2019s going to be hurt.\u00a0 There\u2019s going to be a day of reckoning here.\u00a0 I\u2019ve seen it many times in my life.\u00a0 When things look good, they look great.\u00a0 You go into the sky.\u00a0 But that\u2019s when you have to really pull down and really stop buying.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Billionaire Carl Icahn,\u00a0hedge fund, Icahn Enterprises (NYSE: IEP) had kept on its record short bias, manifesting in a net -149% market exposure as can be seen from below chart.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pgm-blog.com\/gurus-are-bearish-on-the-sp-500\/icahn-net-exposure-q2-2016\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14238\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.pgm-blog.com\/?attachment_id%3D14238&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1471801701592000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGLthsA37uA-qhX89W9Iax5KPJXDA\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/ci6.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/4xc8ZeR7ZwQ8ShWirpiqNMXJTI7MVcN1SjslhzbTzUBUFLPA2mSwkwA9pOt-OIxZETBv4zzsvNR9_sVIT5fRS-1NsfV-KR_1MY0tFrSzMhnVryvX98k87PGBWqsysFLxVQTn0ZJAjA=s0-d-e1-ft#http:\/\/www.pgm-blog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/icahn-net-exposure-q2-2016.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"355\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">PAUL TUDOR JONES:<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong>Tudor Investment Corp, the hedge fund belonging to Paul Tudor Jones, the &#8220;legendary macro trader&#8221; as defined by Bloomberg, which reported Tuesday August 16, that it had <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2016-08-16\/hedge-fund-tudor-said-to-cut-15-of-workforce-after-withdrawals\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2016-08-16\/hedge-fund-tudor-said-to-cut-15-of-workforce-after-withdrawals&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1471801701592000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEI3lAAxiLG6gbHCQIDKR8XNN2MkQ\">fired 15% of its employees<\/a>, and which is now said to be implementing minimum risk levels and urging its traders to take on much more risk to stem the losses.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pgm-blog.com\/gurus-are-bearish-on-the-sp-500\/maxresdefault-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-14239\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.pgm-blog.com\/?attachment_id%3D14239&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1471801701592000&amp;usg=AFQjCNF8OP0zfHfXi1TSoC63uAxHTnD9VA\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/ci4.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/GiuwKMKhRkr4KEreuJTZly8byktN8Sq4fYqAet94c3efARext_-i1CcbCqd_TOfF39_BUcROZ14fYJ1kkO3SrmHn-BqMXe5Wh7il_-yY8v3-b6WC_aSysAeP=s0-d-e1-ft#http:\/\/www.pgm-blog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/maxresdefault.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was interesting, because it revealed that Paul Tudor Jones is even more bearish than George Soros (and perhaps even of Carl Icahn), based on the surge in the fund&#8217;s S&amp;P puts, which rose from US$490 million notional to US$1.7 billion notional, a nearly four-fold increase, and making it the biggest such position in the fund&#8217;s history, dwarfing the $301 million in notional calls the fund had on at the same time.\u00a0 This was the biggest delta between Tudor&#8217;s puts and calls on record.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>PGM CAPITAL ANALYSIS AND COMMENTS:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Billionaire Carl Icahn, for example, recently threw up a red flag on broadcast in the USA, when he declared,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cThe public is walking into a trap again as they did in 2007.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Unfortunately, Icahn\u2019s warning is tame compared to his peers.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Smithers, the chairman of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smithers.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Smithers &amp; Co<\/a> recently said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">U.S. stocks are now about 80% overvalued,<\/span>\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He backs up his prediction using a ratio which\u00a0proves that the only time in history stocks were this risky was 1929 and 1999. And we all know what happened next. (Source: Getty)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Rothschild also said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;To date quantitative easing has successfully driven stock markets higher, but he rightfully fears this will not go on forever.
